The following storage devices can be destroyed: 2.5″/3.5″ HDD and Server HDD, SSD, PC Card, FD, MO, ZIP, Mobile Phone, PDA, Tablet, CD/DVD/BD/HD-DVD, Tape, and USB. If you have other items you want to destroy, please contact us.
Firstly, not all storage devices can be degaussed. For example, degauss does not have any effects on SSD or mobile phones. Secondly, crushing and shredding provide the most effective way and evidence to verify that the drive had been destroyed.
Most organizations that fall under NIST 800-88, HIPAA, and PCI data destruction require that SSDs and other flash media be shredded to .375” (9.5mm). This size shred ensures that all chips are destroyed.
